Shaikha Khaled Al-Bahar is a Kuwaiti executive who has excelled in the fields of business and economics, becoming a competitive name in the arena of businesswomen. She topped the list of the 100 Most Powerful Arab Businesswomen in 2012 as CEO of the National Bank of Kuwait. Globally, the German magazine Forbes ranked her 85th among the 100 Most Powerful Women in the World that same year.

She specialized in international marketing and statistics. She earned her degree with honors from Kuwait University. She participated in numerous specialized training courses at Stanford University, Duke Wharton University, the University of Singapore, and the University of Western Canada.

Al-Bahar was known for her hard work. She worked hard to prioritize her career over all other considerations. She gradually rose from a trainee employee to a department head, and today, she serves as the CEO of the National Bank of Kuwait.

She has achieved profits exceeding $1 billion and revenues of $2.3 billion. Thanks to her, the National Bank of Kuwait ranked seventh among the “Top 200 Gulf Companies,” according to Forbes magazine.

Shaikha Al-Bahar has extensive experience working in banking, lending, marketing, investment, and large and complex financial transactions. She has extensive experience working in privatization, project finance, advisory services, bond issuance, and more. She has participated in numerous business ventures and supported several important and complex development projects, including the EQUATE Petrochemical Project, the EQUATE Petroleum Project, the Wastewater Treatment Project (2002), and the financing of nine aircraft for Kuwait Airways Corporation (KAC) worth over $700 million, among others. Shaikha Al-Bahar thus possesses extensive knowledge of the Kuwaiti finance sector and has built close ties with the local business community. She also supports educational and academic activities.
